This week I've been listening to Love King,
The-Dream's latest release. I have his previous two solo efforts, Love/Hate and Love Vs. Money, both of which I love. Unfortunately, it has taken me a few months to warm up to Love King. It was released in June of this year and I just wasn't into the first two singles, which is generally not a good sign, but I decided to give it a focused listen-through over this past weekend. I don't know what I was thinking before, but I haven't really stopped listening since last Friday. It might even be true that I like this album better than his last, Love Vs. Money. That is a pretty significant thing for me to be saying, given a spectacular guest appearance from Mariah Carey (the center of my musical world) on LVM.
